Baby Loss/ Miscarriage Peer Support Group
This is a totally informal “Pet” project of Safety Awareness Glasgow which has been identified as in great need in our community via our Personal Safety themed focus group.
Mums with same lived experience :-
- Meet over coffee to support one another via open conversations with suggested coping mechanisms that have worked for them.
- Supporting families after a baby loss/miscarriage with visit.
- Sign-posting to professionals like counsellors, helplines that assist with baby loss/miscarriage.
- Supply of miscarriage memory box, for treasure.
- All 1-1 discussions are fully confidential.
- Emotional support to one another on "loss" anniversary dates, which is usually even more difficult to deal with alone with no support.
- 1-1 or Group session of "Stars of remembrance/light a candle/blow a memorial balloon" at loss anniversary.
- Group Day-outs to ease loss and loneliness in grief.
- Observation of the annual UK Baby Loss Awareness Week.
